ART, LOCAL VIBES, HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY COME TOGETHER TO INSPIRE THE LOOK OF THE NEW VENTURA BEACH MARRIOTT.
For Eduardo Renteria, Principal, Senior Interior Designer and the Level 3 Design Group team, designing spaces is seen as creating artwork. Founded over 20 years ago by Jim Spitzig, Jim and his team take pride in knowing visitors and travelers live and interact with their art. It’s this unique perspective and their full-service design work focusing on strong partner relationships that has earned Level 3 Design group flagship clients like IHG, Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott.
On the recent Ventura Beach Marriott, this artwork perspective is merged with elements that shine light on the historical character and ambiance of the area. “Ventura is a beach town uniquely its own,” explains Eduardo. “We wanted to channel that eclectic beach vibe - chill, laid back and approachable.” To achieve this, a relaxed yet vibrant contemporary space was conceived to match the easy beach living nearby. Color pops in blues and yellows capture the ocean and sun outside, while topographical artwork hanging on the walls evoke a different perspective of the local landscape.
Matte black finishes used in the decorative lighting fixtures pay homage to the forged iron craftsmanship seen in local Spanish-style buildings and create a dramatic contrast to pops of color incorporated throughout the hotel.
